Revolutionary Women is the first of a three part series of online talks on Laois and Ireland in revolution.

Sinéad Holland (Laois Local Studies librarian) and Terry Dunne (Laois Historian-in-Residence) will talk about women involved in Cumann na mBan and in the labour movement locally, while Liz Gillis, author of ‘Women of the Irish Revolution’ (amongst other books) will put this research into its national context with an overview of the involvement of women in revolutionary activism across the country. This is part of a long-term and on-going engagement by Laois Local Studies in projects bringing back into the light women’s experience of the revolutionary period.
