The Laois Revolutionary Women Project was launched in 2018 to gather information on the many Laois women who participated in the nationalist struggle during the revolutionary period. The 1916 centenary celebrations highlighted the scant amount of records held by local and national repositories on the revolutionary women of Laois.
This active project encourages people to volunteer information and records, including images, of the women who played their role in the nationalist struggle. Outright donations are not essential, as Laois Local Studies are delighted to digitally copy records and return originals if requested. For more information contact Laois Local Studies.
