Portlaoise Library is pleased to be welcoming acclaimed Irish illustrator David Rooney for an illustrated talk on The Great Irish Famine & Other Stories on Wednesday, March 26th, at 6.30 pm. Through scraperboard illustration, Rooney brings history to life, visually exploring Ireland’s most pivotal era.

David’s work has featured in projects such as the BBC’s Story of Ireland, Titanic Experience, and King John’s Castle. His latest book, The Story of the Great Irish Famine (Gill Books, 2024), is his first for children.
